Danity Kane the New Superhero
September 8, 2006 at 10:52 pm | In Danity Kane, alternative, free stream, lyrics, r&b, rhapsody | Leave a CommentAfter three seasons of Making the Band, Bad Boy Record’s CEO P. Diddy decided to release the debut of the quintet’s new album. The band is comprised with the talent of Aubrey, Aundrea, D. Woods, Dawn, and Shannon. Their sexy appearance and fresh voices make them a promising band. Perhaps we can speculate them to contend with Destiny Child’s fame.
DK sits at the number 2 position in Billboard’s top 200 chart just after its release two weeks ago. Showstopper, one of their most popular songs, sports a bumpin’ bass and an addictive tune that riles you up.

Cassie Climbing the Charts
July 21, 2006 at 7:11 pm | In Cassie, free stream, lyrics, r&b | Leave a CommentCassie entered the music biz at the young age of 16 and upon graduating high school and a little direction, she was signed into a label. Her debut single, Me&U, was released April 25, 2006 and has gradually became a regular hit on local radio stations such as Kiss 106.1 and Kube 93.3.
Lyrics:
Cassie-
you’ve been waiting so long
I’m hear to answer your call
I know that I shouldn’t have had you waiting at all
I’ve been so busy, but I’ve been thinking about what I wanna do with you
Bridge-
I know them other guys, they been talking bout the way I do what I do
They heard I was good, they wanna see if it’s true
They know you’re the one I wanna give it to
I can see you want me too
Now, it’s me and you
Chours-
It’s me and you, now
I’ve been waiting (Waiting)
Think I wanna make that move, now
Baby, tell me if you like it (Tell me if you like it)
It’s me and you, now
I’ve been waiting
Think I wanna make that move, now
Baby, tell me how you like it
Cassie-
I was waiting for you to tell me you were ready
I know what to do, if only you would let me
As long as you’re cool with it, I’ll treat you right
Here is where you wanna be
Bridge-
I know them other guys, they been talking bout the way I do what I do
They heard I was good, they wanna see if it’s true
They know you’re the one I wanna give it to
I can see you want me too
And now, it’s me and you
Chours-
it’s me and you now (Baby, it’s me and you)
I’ve been waiting
Think I wanna make that move, now (Thinking bout making that move)
Baby, tell me if you like it (Tell me if you like it)
It’s me and you, now (Uh-huh)
I’ve been waiting (Hey)
Think I wanna make that move, now (Wanna make a move)
Baby, tell me how you like it (Yea)
Cassie-
Baby, I’ll love you all the way down
Get cha right where you like it, I promise you’ll like it (I swear)
Just relax and let me make that move (It’s our secret thang)
Keep it between me and you
Chours-
It’s me and you, now (Oh Yea-a)
I’ve been waiting
Think I wanna make that move, now (Move now)
Baby, tell me if you like (Tell me if you like it)
It’s me and you, now (Yea)
I’ve been waiting
Think I wanna make that move, now (Gonna make a move now)
Baby, tell me how you like it
It’s me and you
Chorus(x2)
India.Arie Offers Fresh Tunes
July 10, 2006 at 10:44 pm | In free stream, r&b, rhapsody, soul | 9 CommentsThe name doesn’t ring-a-bell in a lot of people’s minds, but it might starting now. Her newest album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship, has reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Now this album is pretty much brand, spankin’ new so it’s tough to say how long she’ll hold the spot. I was able to recognize one of her songs, I Am Not My Hair, and it’s pretty catchy. Time will only tell of her success. Perhaps it’s time for a breakthrough.
Here’s what Rhapsody has to say about her:
“India.Arie made waves in 2001 with her debut release on Motown Records, Acoustic Soul. The album was not a blockbuster but it did produce some singles with considerable staying power, including “Video” and “Brown Skin.” Arie also garnered a few Grammy nominations out of the deal. More importantly, Arie has become the darling little sister of the Neo-Soul set, garnering comparisons to artists like Jill Scott and Macy Gray for her conscious lyrics and vibrant, organic sound.”
Nelly who? Nelly Furtado
June 23, 2006 at 4:55 am | In Nelly Furtado, alternative, free stream, rhapsody | 2 CommentsNot the Nelly you're probably thinking about. Nelly Furtado made a huge presence in 2000-2001 with her hit song, Turn off the Light. Having been working a day job, she later releases Folklore several years later. One song you've most likely heard on the radio then was, Powerless. Powerless topped the Billboard charts at the 5th position one point. Although she's been laying low on the radar, she just released a NEW album on June 20th called, Loose.
Rhapsody says, "Although she grew up in Canada, Nelly Furtado's parents were Portuguese immigrants, and she was raised surrounded by the exotic rhythms of their music. Still drawn to the beat years later, Furtado gravitated toward the popular rap and contemporary R&B groups of the day. Like many teenagers, she used music not only as a means of escape, but also as a way to fan the flames of her dreams. After graduating from high school, Furtado headed to Toronto, where she formed the hip-hop duo Nelster."
As a side note, doesn't she look a little like Monica from Friends? Maybe it's just me…

Sugar Ray Will Always Be A Classic
June 15, 2006 at 1:31 am | In Post-Grunge, Punk, Sugar Ray, alternative, free stream, rhapsody | Leave a CommentSugar remains a top artist for me and fans all around the world. Their band’s ska like rock always carry a catchy melody combined with Mark McGrath singing the catchy tunes.
Rhapsody says,
“Sugar Ray owe a great debt to the powers that make their fusion of styles so darn catchy. Somehow, the union of hardcore Speed Metal with growling vocals, the sunny, feel-good songs with shimmering acoustic guitar, grungy guitar-driven rock and DJ Homicide’s groovy beats make a unified sound all their own. Fueled by the popularity of their ubiquitous first single “Fly” and singer Mark McGrath’s pin-up looks — the five-piece SoCal band seem likely to beat Warhol’s “fifteen minutes of fame” prediction.”
Nickelback hitting number 1 on Rock Charts
June 3, 2006 at 7:45 am | In Nickelback, Rock, free stream, rhapsody | 23 CommentsNickelback has a soft side with their song Far Away and they also have more rockin' songs like, Animals, which topped out at the number 1 spot for a while on the Billboard mainstream rock chart.
Here's a little background for you to read from Rhapsody:
"Canadian band Nickelback blend low-fidelity electric guitar tremolo with warm, acoustic strumming and soulful singing. Although the vocalist treads into melodramatic territory at times, he's sporadically accompanied in refreshing vocal harmony by his bandmates. These are catchy alternative rock songs that (predictably) explode into overdriven, distorted choruses complete with the vocalist's grungy growl."
